Bloomed gold was a popular finishing technique in the late 1800s, giving jewellery a distinctive soft, matte, peachy glow. The effect was achieved by dipping the gold piece into a boiling mixture of acids, salts, and water, which removed surface alloys and left a thin, pure gold layer. Its subtle matte sheen comes from countless microscopic pits, creating a delicate, warm finish that is uniquely antique. The pendant is set with vibrant rubies that add sparkle and colour, while the heart shape reflects timeless romantic appeal. Crafted by Australian jeweller Robert Rollason, Rollason & Co. Ltd, it comes with its original 40 cm chain featuring a classic barrel clasp, preserving its authenticity and historical charm.
